Waking from a Dream

I savor the sense of awakening
As sleep slowly dissipates.
The ethereal shroud blurs barriers
Blending real and imagined.

My dreams, no matter how fanciful,
Are close enough to touch.

I exist in these moments
Until the images fade
into morning’s glow.
